Update of bug #15997 (project mypaint):
Summary: Scrap images saved out to user home dir => Scrap
images saved out to user home dir by default
_______________________________________________________
Follow-up Comment #4:
I don't think putting the scraps in .mypaint is a better default behaviour,
this folder is hidden on GNU/Linux systems, and it is not expected (the
folder is normaly used for settings), nor very discoverable that this is
where scraps end up.
With GNOME/KDE/XFCE based DE's something under ~/Documents/ would be somewhat
expected, but not so much on *nixes without these DE's. Because of that
~/MyPaint/scrap is a better default prefix in my opinion, as it is at least
very discoverable across DE's.
I will probably implement support for ~ expansion in the scrap prefix, as
thats something I want for myself because I often run MyPaint from other
working dirs than $HOME.
This should also improve the scrap prefix situation on Windows, where the
working dir is the location of the .exe file, resulting in very hidden scrap
files by default.
