Summary: 'Pan' with 'spacebar' can't be assigned to a tablet
button. => [xorg] 'Pan' with 'spacebar' can't be assigned to a tablet button.

Follow-up Comment #3:
Yes, assigning keys with xsetwacom just results in a button press event
immediately followed by a button released event.
This must be a bug or a limitation somewhere in xorg/xinput, because I do get
a correctly timed release event when looking at the output of xev for a button
that has no key assigned.
