Follow-up Comment #7:
Setting extended events on and looking at the reported device for a click
seems sufficient here. Then just make sure the device change is processed
before applying the brush tweak you were about to apply.

should fix the problem reported, and a related one with the colour sampler.
Any other dialog or UI elements this needs to happen with?
