Follow-up Comment #1, bug #17902 (project mypaint):
Can't reproduce this one when saving .png files no matter how hard I try :)
Commenting out thumbnail saving or the recent_manager update in
FileHandler.save_file() has no effect. Removing the
@drawwindow.with_wait_cursor _does_ make the problem go away, so it's
something to do with processing the event loop for responsiveness.
