Follow-up Comment #1, bug #18585 (project mypaint):
Git master now uses an orange asterisk icon for "settings which have changed
from the default", for its brush settings dropdown. Maybe use that do decorate
things in the history if they changed?
The Brush Chooser dropdown icon probably doesn't need an indicator since it's
quite close to the Gigantic Orange Star Of Modifiedness.
