Follow-up Comment #11, bug #18617 (project mypaint):
Another issue with the solution above: if you import a new brush (overwriting
the previous one), you would end up using the old version until you remember
to reset.
This could be solved by checking the timestamp of the original brush (or
similar). Simply discard the temporary settings if the timestamp has changed.
