Just to make sure: what input device are you using? Have you tried a
different pointer device (mouse, tablet, touchpad)? Does this give you a
different event rate?
<mitch> maxy: looks all perfectly smooth in gimp on osx
<mitch> i really don'T think i only get 25 events
<mitch> this depends on the input device/driver
