Follow-up Comment #1:
We certainly need an easy way to set the symmetry center. At the moment it's
hard to continue a symmetrical painting once you lost the axis (e.g. after
loading).
Compared to the usefulness of horizontal symmetry, I think we can safely
ignore vertical symmetry for now. No point adding the more specialized
features while horizontal symmetry still has usability problems. (Btw. what is
vertical symmetry typically used for?)
