Follow-up Comment #1:

Confirmed here. Conversely, gimp 2.6's lcms code does the following


lcms: attached color profile is not for RGB color space (skipping)


The .png you attached is supposedly an RGB image, so it's odd that it has a
non-RGB ICC profile attached. Hopefully we can nick a suitable bit of GIMP
code to handle this, either 2.6 or 2.8 :)
