If I understood the intent of the initial request correctly, this is fixed now
with optigon's code in git master.
Maybe we can open the opposite bugreport soon, because my only use for
straight lines was perspectives actually ;-) But for the two times per year
that I use straight lines at all (appart from testing) the current UI is more
than enough.
