Follow-up Comment #1:

If you run the command "file /home/jen/icyblue.ora" in a terminal, what does
it say? Does it maybe have the wrong extension? How large is the file?

Did you get any error message when saving? Or while working before saving? Did
you save the file with MyPaint or did you also work in another application on
the same file? Also, what version of MyPaint are you using?

In general, MyPaint first saves into /home/jen/icyblue.ora.tmpsave and only
when that is successful it replaces the original. Your problem could be
anything... maybe failing hardware. Check output of "dmesg" command if you
haven't rebooted already. Select the memory test from the boot menu and leave
it running for an hour. Check the file system with fsck (make sure you have a
backup of everything).
