Follow-up Comment #2, bug #21735 (project mypaint):
A coworker (who knows math much better than I) worked out a proof that a 55
degree angle as reported against to the X axis will appear to be a ~45 degree
angle against the X axis when the bearing is rotated 45 degrees. This matches
up with the numbers I was getting from xinput test. So the next thing I will
do is uncomment those printf statements in the code and see what numbers
mypaint is deriving from the xinput values.
