Skill: Logical Data Modeler
Duration: 6 months w/ likely extensions
Rate: - $65/hr
** Most important skill: Creating normalized logical data models &
Healthcare insurance knowledge/background.*
This job exists for the purpose of conceptually, logically and physically
modeling data that exists either in transactional or data warehousing
systems. The candidate is expected to have at least 7-10 years of
experience as a Data Modeler with training in data modeling principles
(including Normalization, Dimensional and UML modeling) and business process
relationships. They will be responsible for several stand alone projects
were they will be creating logical data models to present to the business
groups.
Responsibilities:
Interprets business requirements into logical data requirements
Interacts with the business regarding data issues, data
relationships, and data sources
Communicates with mid-level business managers to confirm logical
model based on data requirements
Develops conceptual, logical and first cut physical models
Works with the data base analyst to complete a fully attributed
physical model
Models source data
Performs mapping between source and third normal form layer
(physical data integration layer)
Performs logical to physical mapping
Creates and updates the data dictionary
Captures business rules for logical to physical mapping in
metadata
