Hello Christopher,
CL> Is anybody aware of a problem when connecting Microsoft Access to MySQL
CL> 3.23 where records with AutoIncrement fields claim to be deleted after
CL> entry? Here's what I have:
Yep!
[...]
CL> autoincrement field, it will not have this problem. Is there anything I
CL> can do to get this problem fixed?
CL> One more thing, in the past, I have used a similar setup with MySQL
CL> 3.22.29 for Windows. Everything worked fine with that version, but since
CL> it was shareware, I tried to upgrade to the 3.23.xx version under the GPL
CL> license. That is when I first ran into this problem, and I see that it
CL> still has not been fixed, or has not been reported. Please let me know
CL> what I can do to help solve this problem.
I bet you were using Access7... we couldn't make Access2k run safely
with 3.22.32... the same problem.
If you browse MySQL archived discussions you'll find some answers from
a guy named Robert (as I) who said: "Access2k just doesn't work
with MySQL! If it has to be Access put 97" or something like this.
We've installed Office Premium with SR1 and SP2, even with MSJet4SP5
and it simply doesn't work. M$ has a webpage with this same error over
MSSQLServer!!! They tell you to install MSJet4SP5. Well, we tried
that too :oP
What we didn't try was 3.23.xx As you have installed it try applying
MSJet4SP5 and please let me know if you success.
Good luck,
--
Roberto
