I just upgrade my MySQL from 4.0.20 to 4.1.7, however

i found new things here, password() function

in 4.0.20 -> password("xxx") result in 5336eb751494bdb1
in 4.1.7  -> password("xxx") result in *3E5287812B7D1F947439AC45E739353

how to get backward compatibility for this function ? since i use password() to encrypt users password

Thanks
