Hello.


Changing the basedir variable doesn't automatically changes the datadir 
variable.



This can produce the problems. I've reported a bug:

  http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=7873



You can use my suggested patch or specify the options in the option file. See:

  http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/Automatic_start.html
