I have tried to compile mysql, and got some linking errors. Any chance a binary for Solaris 8 can be made available?
I cannot answer your question, but I am currently building 5.0.2 on Solaris 8 sparc and the build works. It does require some dependencies to be installed from www.blastwave.org.
I build sparcv8, sparcv8plus+vis and sparcv9 daemon and shared libraries. The sparcv8 portion has finished. Then, I need to finish sparcv8plus+vis and sparcv9 and package it and run it through the test suite.
If you are interested, just say so, but note that it is not a supported blastwave.org package. Our official released package is 4.1.9, with 4.1.10 due this week.
