Compiled source on Slackware 7.2 Linux Sparc and install it. I then
ran mysql_install_db
and I get errors when installing the grant tables. It tells me that
mysqld caught signal 4.

Either try and start mysqld or try and run mysql_install_db

None at this time. I searched the problems area of the manual, but it
assumes that you've
already have it installed and at least running. I can provide an
strace of it, but I don't
have gdb installed due to limited disk space. Didn't think that I'd
need it.
