What are specifications of your DB. How much of data you have. How mant transactions you will be getting daily. Without these details it will be difficult to answer ur question.
But for a centralised database server, I guess 1G RAM and 2CPU will be a good configuration to start with. sujay -----Original Message----- From: Vinayak Mahadevan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, September 27, 2005 9:25 AM To: mysql@lists.mysql.com Subject: Advice Required I am creating an application in Visual Basic 6.0 which will require a centralised database server. All this while I had been planning to use MS-Access. But then I found out that MS-Access is ok to be a desktop rdbms but not for an enterprise level rdbms. So I am planning to use MySQL as the backend for the application. What should be the minimum system requirement to run the database on.
