MySQL folks, At last year's Open Source Convention, I arranged a last-minute BOF (Birds of a Feather) session one evening. Many of the core MySQL developers (and other folks in the audience) answered questions about MySQL problems, performance tuning tips, missing features, future development, and so on. I got the distinct impression that it was worthwhile, based on how many folks showed up and participated. So I'd like to do something similar this year. This year, I'm trying to plan ahead a bit more. As far as I know, nobody else is organizing one of these of MySQL. (If someone is, please let me know!) I'm looking for suggestions, comments, and feedback. If you came last year, do you have any feedback? Was the format okay? Could we have done things in a better way? In case you don't know about the annual Open Source Convention, you can find lots of information here: http://conferences.oreilly.com/oscon/ Unlike last year, there's a track devoted to MySQL this year. :-) http://conferences.oreillynet.com/cs/os2001/pub/w/os2001/sessions_mysql.html It includes talks about Gemini, Replication, Crash Recovery, Server & Application Tuning, and more.
