Help! I can't get the DriverManager.getConnection() method with the 3-arg
signature to work (need it for DreamWeaver). Here are the two statements,
which should be equivalent:
WORKS:
Connection myConn =
DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql:///wroxjsp?user=xxx&password=yyy");
DOESN'T WORK:
Connection myConn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql:///wroxjsp", "xxx",
"yyy");
ERROR INFO:
java.sql.SQLException: Communication link failure: Bad handshake
at org.gjt.mm.mysql.MysqlIO.init(MysqlIO.java)
at org.gjt.mm.mysql.Connection.(Connection.java)...
Anybody know why?
