Hi, I am trying to install MySQL in my own account on Sun Sparc solaris2.7. I am an EE student trying to finish a project. Here is my problem: I downloaded source MySQL file to my home directory. As I am not root user, I failed to run "groupadd mysql" and "useradd -g mysql mysql". After I gtar-ed the MySQL .gz file, but failed to run "./configure --prefix=/usr/local/mysql". The error message I got was "checking return type of sprintf... configure: error: can not run test program while cross compiling". I succeeded loading binary version of MySQL to my account. However, when I tried to install sipconf, I got error message "Could not find MySQL Client library". I thought the C API library might not be in the binary version, so I tried to download the source and worked on it. Could you please give me some help? Your earliest reply would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance! Best regards, Huai Liu
