I've escalated problem to linux-kernel becouse my tests show that it may be a linux kernel (2.4.x) memory problem with 1.5GB of RAM. I'm waiting for any respose or advice now. Test on another hardware is in progress. When I'll have time I'll try mysql 3.23.44.
