Hi,
My opinion is :
    - open the "mysql" client;select the system mysql database with "use
mysql" and update the
users table with next SQL statement :
       "update user set Password=PASSWORD('your_new_password') where
user='root' and Host='%';
and to make active this change you can do:
        "flush privileges;"
