Two things, one, MySQL AB doesn't develop the JDBC driver, I do, and two,
1.2c is very, very old, thousands of people are using the 2.0 series of
drivers available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/mmmysql/ with Forte
very effectively and without issues.

I would suggest you read the e-week article about how un-microsoftish this
combination of tools (MySQL/MM.MySQL) is.

In the future, I suggest that you use less of an accusatory tone, seeing as
how hundreds of thousands of people have made this combination work just
fine with little or no hand-holding, you seem to require a lot of direction
and hand-holding, and sell this level of competence as a "service" to your
"client".
