I have downloaded and installed DBD-mysql-2.1011, which has allowed the test suite $MYSQL_HOME/sql-bench/run-all-tests to complete successfully. (I had thought that the insert test was not working, but I was simply too impatient--it took about 45 min of clock time to run.) Everything is working now I think, although I am having a little problem with setting up user passwords. Thanks for the help!
