Do you want to access the whole MySQL server? Or do you just want to administer a single database on a MySQL server?
You could contact the owners of the database server and ask them to create a user for you to be able to connect to your MySQL database. You do not need to be root to administer a mysql database, it has its own permissions tables. -----Original Message----- From: Todd Cary [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, May 17, 2002 3:56 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Remote admin of MySQL from Win 2K Just installed MySQL Manger...great! But I cannot get into a Cobalt RaQ-4 - problem due to my inability to be root since I can only admin the server by a Web page. Hmmmmmmmm....
