Has anyone ever suggested a put-on-vacation command for this (or any?)
list server?

I'm thinking a put-on-vacation and put-off-vacation commands would not
need the full send-check-confirm-notify protocol, send-notify should be
sufficient for both commands. The difference seems trivial, but it might
reduce the number of bounced messages from full mailboxes.

Just looked at the confirmation message that lists the usual commands
and I don't see such a command. I guess I should see if I can figure out
how hard it would be.
