Another Mac OS X problem... verified in 10.1 and 10.2

I'm guessing that the mysql client libraries don't support the port
option (-P or --port=)... On both 10.1 and 10.2, I can't get mysql,
mysqladmin, or mysqlshow (the on three I've tried) to connect to a mysql
server on any port other than 3306. I've even tried a GUI client (SQL4X
manager) that ships with its on client libraries... but to no avail.
There are no firewalls or tcp/wrapper issues, the clients just always
try to connect to port 3306, regardless of what I specify.

Any clues?

thanks,
