We removed MIT-pthreads from the source distribution a while ago. If you need it, please download the tarball from our website: http://www.mysql.com/Downloads/Contrib/pthreads-1_60_beta6-mysql.tar.gz Untar this file into the MySQL source directory (it will create a subdirectory "mit-pthreads") and try again.
