Hi!, I hope someone a little more knowledgeable in mySQL can help me with this...
We just got a new box setup (standard mySQL install) called BoxA, every time we try to connect to mySQL from a remote location(BoxB) we get the "Lost connection to MySQL server during query" message. The command we're using (on BoxB) is : mysql -hxxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -ppassword The "Uptime" number in the mysqladmin data on BoxA returns to 1sec at that point (in other words connecting crashes mysql & restarts it). Has anyone seen this behaviour before? I'd appreciate any suggestions!. Thanks, William. BoxA (server): Server version 3.23.41 Protocol version 10 Connection Localhost via UNIX socket UNIX socket /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock Uptime: 6 sec BoxB (acting as client): Server version 3.23.37 Protocol version 10 Connection Localhost via UNIX socket UNIX socket /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock Uptime: 74 days 6 hours 32 min 51 sec --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Trouble unsubscribing?
