There shouldn't be a problem with porting data from one version to another. The only true way I guess would be to test it. We have been using the 4.0.6 on our production machine since it came out and have had no problems. >Also I would like to know how-to upgrade, can I just instal over my >excisting MySQL installation? You should be able to just install over the top without any problems. Backup tour data directory to a different directory though to play it safe.
