PHP works fine to update a mysql database on the server. But I would like to access a device connected to the serial port or a USB port on the client computer through an applet and store this information in the database on the server. I have tried to find an example of such a transaction on the net, unsuccessfully. Has anybody out there experiences with this kind of problem? It could be any solution, such as PHP + javascript, or PHP all by itself. Is there a good publication talking about this issue? Thank you Mario
