hi i am using mysql version 4.0.1 alpha my problem is that whenever i update my my.cnf to enable innodb support and restart the system the mysql.sock file gets deleted and i cannot start mysql. and then again i have to re install mysql i have even tried by changing the file persission for my.cnf to 555. thanks anirudh
