When using the mysqladmin -u root -p create test command and entering the correct password I get :- mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)' Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/tmp/mysql.sock' exists!
and /tmp/mysql.sock does not exist but mysqld is running. What have I done wrong ? --- Regards, Alf Stockton www.stockton.co.za "See - the thing is - I'm an absolutist.
