Hi All, Downloaded mysql-standard-4mysql-standard-4.0.10-gamma-sun-solaris2.8-sparc.tar.gz.
If this is NOT installed in /usr/local/mysql and you try and start it using support-files/mysql.server it fails with error: $ ./support-files/mysql.server start ./support-files/mysql.server: /usr/local/mysql: does not exist Yet in ./support-files/mysql.server on line 30: # If you install MySQL on some other places than /usr/local/mysql, then you # have to do one of the following things for this script to work: # # - Run this script from within the MySQL installation directory Yet this is incorrect as the script will not look in . and tries /usr/local/mysql Section 2.4.3 of the Online Manual Contradicts this: "You might need to edit mysql.server if you have a binary distribution that you've installed in a non-standard location." Could someone with bitkeep access update mysql.server accordingly so that it matches what is documented (in binary installs need to edit the file) Many Thanks.
