Hi,
I'm trying to set up a small database server for our students to play
with and ran into problems while creating accounts and granting rights.
I used
insert into user (User, Host, Password,
Insert_priv, Update_priv, Delete_priv,
Create_priv, Drop_priv, Index_priv, Alter_priv)
values ('someuser','%', PASSWORD('somepw'),
'Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y');
flush priviliges;
The new users can log in and can create new databases, but they can
neither create tables inside the new database nor use show tables.
Am I missing something (I read the online manual and came across some
similar question, but no answer) - or do I really have to grant the
rights to the individual databases by hand?

strangley enough neither of the words sql,query,queries,smallint is
necessary to describe the problem, but they are required by the
spamfilter
