Is this for display in the MySQL client, or will it get parsed by some application?
If parsed, you may want to do three separate queries with an UNION, then add up the resulting three numbers. SELECT SUM(value) FROM stats_picturecollection_nypl_org.0403_detail where epoch between 1050000000 and 1054561843 and type='sessions_unk' UNION SELECT SUM(value) FROM stats_picturecollection_nypl_org.0503_detail where epoch between 1050000000 and 1054561843 and type='sessions_unk' UNION SELECT SUM(value) FROM stats_picturecollection_nypl_org.0603_detail where epoch between 1050000000 and 1054561843 and type='sessions_unk' That will return three rows, which your application logic could add together.
