There is no exact limitation for MySQL storing records. Whatever your current need is, I'm quite confident that MySQL will be more than sufficient for your database needs.
 
To give you an example which should give you a clearer picture as to what MySQL is capable of, is that since 1996, TcX has been using MySQL in an environment with more than 40 data-bases containing 10,000 tables. Of these 10,000 tables, more than 500 have more than seven million records - about 100 GB of data!
 
So if you look at it that way, it should make one think if there really is a limit for data storage in MySQL.
