I do a small web hosting company and one of the ongoing issues we have is keeping mysql user's passwords in sync with ldap/local passwords. Right now I have a script in place to try and keep things in sync when they change their local ldap password but it doesn't always work and it feels like a major security issue too.
What would be nice is if there was a way to get mysql to either use pam or ldap to retrieve its passwords. This way no hacked sync'ing is needed. Anyone else have any suggestions. As far as I'm able to find, nothing like this exists and unfortunately I'm no programmer.
