Then I misunderstood you. I took your answer to mean that you cannot store dates without the day part, rather than that your advice was not to do so. I accept your explanation that you meant the latter, but I don't think that's clear from your original wording.
Perhaps you read an accusatory tone in my choice of wording. That was not my intent, and for that I apologize.
