Hi,
I have inherited a legacy project which does a fair amount of writing
to it and considering a master/slave setup to balance out the work.
The current box (slave) is installed w/ 4.1 and the new dev box which
will become admin + (master) has 5.0 and I have server-id + binlogged
it and did a full mysqldump load and so far so good except someone
mentioned that the binlog versioning may be incompatible for
replication and can't seem to find the docs on this via
dev.mysql.com. Im also looking to accomplish this without much
downtime so Im wondering if there is a type of ~scaling out~ doc or
guideline to follow on when you want to move from single db -> master/
slave -> cluster, etc.
I don't think the versioning 5/4.1 is a problem but just double
checking.
