Howdy again, I don't know if you noticed, but upstream believes there is a chance that this problem might be fixed. Unfortunately, they have not merged that fix into the 0.22 version of MythTV.
The Mythbuntu team has alpha quality builds of MythTV 0.23 available on a PPA if you are interested in testing out their fix. If you find it is still a problem, then the issue could be re-opened. Please follow the directions at http://mythbuntu.org/auto-builds to enable them. Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with 0.23 or beyond.
