The newer lirc has landed by now, so if this still persists, can someone
please reopen this issue and provide some fresher data?

Bug description:
Binary package hint: lirc
After updgrading to hardy, my ATI RF Wonder Remote wouldn't work with the
configuration generated by debconf.
debconf generated a /etc/lircd.conf with basically one line:
include /usr/share/lirc/remotes/atiusb/lircd.conf.atilibusb
but irw wasn't showing any button pressses. I replaces lircd.conf with contents
of /usr/share/lirc/remotes/atiusb/lircd.conf.atilibusb which related to my
remote (ati_remote_wonder_rf), and it worked ok.
version of lirc is
lirc 0.8.3~pre1-0ubuntu7
