I investigated a little bit more the other day and I think that the wrong directory owner may not be the problem I had.
I think I didn't have the right timezone set, and without the right directory owner set, I was able to get a log file. I worked on a patch to detect and force the right timezone using 'dpkg- reconfigure' but unfortunately, the dpkg database (or file) seems to be locked when using the myth live front end script. -- when using the live cd as a frontend the config directory is created with the wrong user https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/502438 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Mythbuntu Bug Team, which is subscribed to Mythbuntu.
