Hi Marc et al, This isn't a remote exactly. It's an IR receiver/blaster in-one. Support is in LIRC and recompiling LIRC once I install the header files from the iguanair website (http://www.iguanaworks.net) it Just Works(tm) :)
The downfall of performing the additional actions necessary to get it to Just Work is that everyone who uses Mythbuntu may not be as comfortable doing command line manipulations and using apt. IMHO *Buntu was originally designed to overcome this exact situation where users have a difficult time getting things to work because of complex (to them) compiling issues and non-automated tasks. In summary, once the GPL headers are downloaded and installed (available at http://www.iguanaworks.net) recompiling the lirc package makes it Just Work. Seems like something that could easily be taken care of in *buntu. Thanks! -Chad -- IguanaIR not in Mythbuntu remote/transmitter selection dropdown boxes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/402630 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Mythbuntu Bug Team, which is subscribed to Mythbuntu.
