Also, could you please rerun mythtv-setup and make sure you have inputs assigned to capture cards? Perhaps you should re-read the installation instructions? Lastly, if mythfilldatabase continues to crash, a copy of the mythfilldatabase.log from the run that crashes would be helpful.
