I'd like to make sure I'm understanding your description properly:
1. Chanel changing on h264 IPTV with network recording sometimes confuses the
backend such that it has to be restarted
2. This confusion makes the frontend appear to hang for some period of time,
but it can usually exit normally
3. The attached crash report is due to you killing the front-end process
manually, not it crashing on its own
I don't suppose that on one of the times that the frontend hangs, you
could attach gdb to that process and capture a trace?

Bug description:
h264 IPTV with Network Recorder: Frontend often hangs during channel change
(getting "Partial Lock", Screen stays black) and is not able to record/livetv
anymore until restarting backend. Backend itself does not crash. Frontend often
does NOT crash either and can be exited normally. Sometimes has to be killed
though. mythfrontend.real crashed with SIGSEGV in QString::operator<()
