Bug description:
Binary package hint: mythtv
I do apologize for the confusing summary.
I recently connected another monitor to my computer (which was a whole slew of
issues that are almost resolved). I've noticed that with the monitor standby
power setting set (which currently is at 5 minutes), the monitors go into
standby regardless of whether or not the computer is in use. So, even if I'm
using the computer, the monitors will still fade away and shut off, but quickly
turned back on when I press a key or move the mouse (meaning, standby works as
properly, except it always goes to standby, whether idle or not).
Before I connected the new monitor, standby worked properly and would not go
into standby unless the computer was idle or not being used.
I run MythTV on a separate monitor. I use the other monitor for all of my other
computer activities (Internet, documents, graphics, etc.). It seems that if
MythTV is running but nothing is being done within the program, the computer
will send both of the monitors in to standby mode. If I move my mouse or type a
key on the MythTV screen, it seems to prevent the issue (meaning standby works).
I hope this sums up the issue. It seems to be difficult to really say what the
issue is.
