V9.10 and V10.04 "No lock" error on station scan with Hauppauge PVR

Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:

Bug description:
I am using Mythbuntu 9.10 and I tried both cards which I had at hand
with the same result. I gave mythdora 10.21 live version a try and it
worked out.
Anyone has a clue in what direction "no lock" points to? File lock?
Frequency lock?
Any help highly appreciated, Eric
